Every home-cook needs an easy stew
Ingredients
- Pick your favorite stewing meat, Beef/ Bone in chicken thighs /Turkey thighs/Lamb shoulder
- Flour or starch (optional, this thickens the broth)
- Diced Potato
- Sliced Mushroom
- Diced Celery
- 3+ tsp Goulash paprikash
- 1-3 tbs oil depending on your choice of meat
- 2-3 cups water
Instructions
- Cube your stew meat if desired, set your stew pot on high heat with oil
- dredge meat with flour and add to pot to brown the surfaces. Stir every few minutes.
- Once the surfaces are mostly browned add the rest of the ingredients, bring to a boil and simmer until the meat is tender. 30 min for chicken, 45 for turkey, 2+ hours for beef or lamb.
Tips
Note- this also makes an amazing fish stew. Dont brown anything instead simmer the vegetables in a goulash paprikash broth dropping in cubed fish and simmering for 5-8 minutes. Don’t over cook the fish.
